    hey it's been awhile but how much horsepower does an 85 305 have? i can't find it any where! if you can tell me i wold be grateful!!!

    215 hp, sure this was a crankshaft figure, below is from 85 camaro brochure, best I can do

    160 flywheel hp 4brl 305 1986.

    I remember seeing that somwhere.
    had a rebuilt 355SB chevy
    it lasted 42,000km
    Got another rebuilt 355SB
    it lasted 62km.
    I still have not had a powerful engine.

    a 305 8 cyl? i've heard at least 220. wheres streets or the other guys that i always talked to ?

    Yeah I think we need a few more HP ratings off different parts...just to be a little more accurate, unless of course, he's already found the one hes wanted out of all of the HP ratings he's already got. When this happens to me, I just revert back to my old method, it gos like this: Eenie Meenie Minee Moe!! He! He! He!

    Eenie, menie, miney moe? Note to self, Vara is not picking any parts for my car! Also, where did you get 220 for a 305? is a 305 even capable of 220? or was that with some tweekage? mmmm, tweekage.....

    ah so i see......stupid kids!!!!!! oh wait i'm a kid too well.. at least i don't say what i don't know..... i....need....more....hosrepower!!!!

    Hey LanceX - here's another opinion for you - I have a 1985 305 TPI - my books say---- 305 2bbl - 150 @ 4000 rpm - 305 4bbl - 165@4200rpm - 305 TPI - 190@4800 rpm(IrocZ) - I've been told that it's great for a boat anchor - good luck

    OK, I hate to drag on the thread longer, but what are the torque specs on the 305? I see HP, but it takes time and revs to make HP. I just want to know what kind of low end these thing have. Compare it to my vin9 442 307 Im buying. 180HP and 255ft-lbs. Girlfriend should love it.
