I wouldn't put it together with 1.6 rockers on an Extreme Energy cam. I would on a Magnum cam though, like this one. Part #12-326-4, grind 286H, 286/286, 236/236, 0.522"/0.522", 110* LSA, install 2* advanced. Use 1 3/4" long-tube, equal-length headers. This dynosim is less mufflers....

Any suspension, differential, or chassis mods???? Dang shame to have 400 horse that either breaks parts or won't hook up??????? What transmission, and if an automatic, what converter??????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I don't particularly like these heads. If you use enough cam to make the hp, it takes away from torque at the bottom. I like to see 400 ft/lbs @ 2000 rpm's for a good, stout street motor. These heads require 3100 rpm's to make 400 with this particular cam and I couldn't get there with any other cam that I tested on the sim. Went through 8 different cams on this combination before settling on this one. Should be used with a 3000 stall converter though, for best results.
I guess I've been ruined by seeing results using Airflow Research aluminum heads. This same combo with AFR 190 heads makes 522/490. Of course, the AFR's wouldn't make 400 @ 2000 either, not with this cam.Last edited by techinspector1; 01-03-2009 at 02:36 PM.

Make sure you check the DCR on the cam you choose. If you bump up the compression to 10.5, you will not be able to use the XE 274 cam because the DCR will be over 8.5 and incompatible with pump gas.
