Engine mount adapters - LS1 into SBC frame mounts

I'm looking at the engine mount adapters for an LS1 engine onto SBC frame mounts. The TCI chassis I have was built with frame mounts for a SBC/700R4. I got an LS1/4L60E combo yesterday that I want to use instead of the LT1/700R4. Looking thru the Welder Series catalog, I noticed they offer an adapter plate for the LS1 engine that uses the early style SBC engine mounts that are supposed to fit the SBC frame mounts. In the Jeg's catalog, they list a Trans-Dapt adapter that does the same thing. Has anyone used these mounts or something similar to drop an LS1 into their SBC frame? What would be the Pros/Cons?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Thanks Don, since you have built several N&N bodied '32s, is there any clearance issues with the firewall or radiator/fan-shroud using these adapters. Will the LS1 sit in the same location as the SBC?

For much helpful information on LS1 and similar swaps go here: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids-28/

If you look up in the stickys there you will find a pattern for basic adapter plates. You can also find them on EBay and from numerous vendors now including Street and Performance, BRP Hot Rods, Transdapt, Hooker, Edelbrock and a host of others. You might even check with TCI, they might have something for you. Bear in mind that different adapters locate the motor in different places forward and back and up and down. so you need to do a little research to see what will work for you The LSx motors are showing up in everything. I love mine!

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
