coolant overflow bottle
I've got an 86 c 10 with a 350 out of an89 camaro. I had the passenger side head off to repair a broken rocker stud. After putti g the head back on the coolant doesn't return to the radiator from the overflow bottle. I tried a new radiator cap but that didn't help. Could i have possibly screwed up when I replaced the head bolts? I put the two shorter bots into the holes with the raised bosses. Can anybody enlighten me on this. Thanks rick

head gasket didn't completly seal, so it is drawing air in, breaking the vac from the radiatorYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

i lined up the head bolts on the bench when i pulled the head. if i put 1 of the 2 shorter bolts in a wrong hole would that account for this. what happens is i drive a half hour and the engine begins to get hot. the coolant in the overflow bottle rises almost to the top w/ a corresponding level drop in the radiator. when i shut down i hear slow gurgle for a few moments but the level in the bottle remains high. thanx, rick
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
