    small block chevy block question...

     



    Okay...if I have a Gen1 non-roller block, I can still use "Retro-fitted" hydraulic roller lifters etc...RIGHT???? JUST WON'T HAVE SPIDER, THEY WILL HAVE BUILT IN DOGBONES???

    well no they have a link bar .the dog bones only come in to play if you are using the spider to hold the dog bones down .some have rework the older block s for the new stuff to work. i just buy the retro lifters with link bars for older blocks

    okay, but point is...if i want a roller engine, i don't have to buy a roller block, the retrofit hyd roller lifters are designed for exactly this issue?....

    yes if you have a older block. you would use a retro lifter and if you want i can get you a price on a kit from Erson Cams. PM me if you want you have to use there push rods lifters and cam .not all roller lifters have the same push rod cup to roller lenght so not all push rods will work.
