Thanks for the input..Steves32 got it right! .after talking to an Aeromotive tech today the 100micron level is what they require for, at least, their SS pump. Here is a PDF file they furnished...sorry, I could not figure how to link the pics with the file..

I use a Mallory fuel filter between the tank and the Mallory pump.

Great thread, but now I am questioning my fuel filtration system...
I have a Professional Products canister type fuel filter pre-pump, I believe it is 10 micron. I am not sure of the element type (probably paper) but there is a PP replacement filter as well as a FRAM element.
I have plans to install an inline post pump/pre carb filter, would a 40 micron there be enough? Should I revise my fuel filtration schema entirely?Burning gunpowder and gasoline daily for over 20 years and counting!
