Hi all,
My first post. I'm installing a GM V6 into my 52 willys truck. Space forward of the block is at a premium to keep from having to notch the crossmember.

I have an 89 4.3L TBI engine, that I need to convert from a serpentine belt to a V-belt with a short shaft water pump. I have all the parts necessary, but was wondering if I will have cooling issues due to the intake being originally set up for a reverse rotation pump.
It is my understanding that the intake manifold gasket has a certain water port blocked off to allow for the reverse rotation. If I switch to the older style pump that spins CW, won't the water circulate backward inside the block? This may or may not be a problem, but would like to know what I'm up against before I go any further.
