Chevy Main Cap Issues
Hello again. I have a question about main cap removal thanks...
Here it goes: I need to get my pick up, which is aftermarket and custom for my application, bolted under the third main cap bolt. Is it okay to remove this one cap and put this one cap back on to the right torque specs or should I remove them all and retorque them all.
Also, is this something I should be able to handle on my own with a torque wrench or should I take it to a shop as I am a novice at engine building, however I do have much tact with tools. Thanks for any advice.

The oil pump pickup should not go under the bolt, that bolt should be have a stud on the end to bolt the pickup to....,Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

But to answer your question, yes you can remove just that bolt if you want. However, when you reinstall the bolt loosen the other one on that main cap and retorque them both.
Have fun.Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

I assume your talking about a tab on your pick up tube ? If so do not mount that tab under the main cap bolt as you'll never get the proper tourqe.
You need to find the correct bolt (ARP ?) it will have a 5/16 or 3/8 ? stud made on top of bolt for mounting the tube.
