Value of 267
I have a 1981 chevy 267 from my 81' Impala, I have no use for it and I do not know a fair price. How much is this worth? It has a 2 bbl carb and is all stock, I also belive it is computer controlled. I have never bothered to turn it over but it had only sat for 2 years before I bought it, the car's odometer reads 120,000 and the former owner said the odometer worked. Oh it's rated at 115 HP. The former owner also said it never smoked. I bought it thinkin it was a 350 and the old owner of the car thought the same. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Thanks Streets, The only reason I thought it was computer controlled cause there is a mass of wires under that hood, they go everywhere. You actually think 2 years of sittin can actually freeze the engine up, I diddn't know the Freeze up time period. I paid $75 for the entire car, is it possible for the trans to go bad also? He said it shifted smoothly and if you couldent remember I found it to be a Th200. I know the rear end is smooth.
Lets see, 13 bucks a ton and, it's about a 2 ton car so if nuttin more I can make 26 dollars. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Streets, do you think I should get a 350 and use my Th200 trans or, get some kind of cheap ford 302 donor car ( 80's crown vic or merc grand marquise )? I know the 302 will work as the other person on this site did his with a ford 302 and there is another one on www.cardomain.com. I just don't know which I should use, I would like to be a little diffrent and use the Chevy but people have arleady proven that the 302 will work and I don't really know which one to use. The 351 is the same physical size as the 302 right? so i could eventually get a 351 and replace the 302.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Thanks fer backing me up dave. Oh and I'm not in the hole cause I will not be needing the 267 and the trans attached to it and, I just remembered that the former owner ( my moms friend ) said that if anything came up that he would buy them back so, I can get most of my money back and the rest, I can gut the good parts that are still good like the dash, seats, 2 headlights and the rear end and sell what I can and find a way 2 use what's left in one of my projects. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Chevy 267
Hello, I would be interested in your 267 V8, if you haven't gotten rid of it yet. I can't quote the value, but if you would get back to me, we could work something out. Maybe a trade. I have a lot of stuff.

Sorry, I promised the former owner of the engine that I would sell it and the trans back to him if I found that I did not need it, this is the only way I got the powertrain in the first place. I'm sorry I cannot sell you the engine but, I live in New York and I promised the former owner. You don't know what you've got til it's gone
