Getting more vacuum
The engine I'm building will be way under the 16" vacuum rule so I'll have too run in a different class and I'm hearing about some guys pulling vacuum off there carb spacer plates by drilling a hole a inserting a fitting then turning it downwards and cutting it at a angle so that the air coming by would pull enough vacuum too make them legal for the class has anyone ever heard of this? Because somethings going on here these motors are chopping real hard and still pulls just enough to pass.

Taking the reading off a spacer plate? Not while I'm doin' the tech inspections. Are any of 'em using hydraulic cams with Rhoads Lifters?

I know alot are having special ground cams opening up lobe seperation with alot of lift, some are well over 700 lift pulling vacuum. Every racer is always trying to skirt around the rules some has had vacuum pumps hid under the dash with a line running through the heater hose and coming out under the intake, the tech guy one night pulled the coil wire off while checking vac and when the engine died it was still pulling vac BUSTED so the next race I'm going to take a better look at there set up there might be something to this.
