I had a 77 Ford F150 that had an intermittent problem similar to that.Some times when it got hot it would go dead, start and run for a minute and go dead,and sometimes you could hold it wide open and it would only run about 1000 rpm.Seemed just like a fuel starvation problem.Turned out to be the ignition module.If you think you can...you can If you think you can't...you're right .
