M55HV with stock screen?
Got my oil pump today(M55HV) with a new melling screen and hardened drive.
I dont remember the screen being so hard to mount in the oil pump body. I want to have it tack welded in place but I cant even get it started in the body. Any helpful tip or tricks.
Thanks Jimmy(tryin to stay away from the big hammer)

you have a driver tool ? some start hard check make sure you have the right pickup they have the hv in 5/8 and 3/4 tube size you may want to sand or file the leading edge of the pickup so it starts better but Wash .. it very good after i drive them on i take the oil pump cover off the check for any part of the tube the may have push a burr in the pump i WASH it and blow it out good .do not let the gears spin when blowing it out i put the cover back on check pick up to pan room . i tig weld the pick up on use missile rod i run a bead about 1/2 long . i set the oil pump on a old phone book when i drive the pick up on .never drive the pick up on the engine.... if you do not have a driver tool you can use a old open end wrench break the edge abit with a sanding drum or stone so you do not cut in to the pick up hammer on the wrench and move it so your not hitting it only in one spot or if some heavy wall tubing with the right I.D and make a driver you cut it at 35 angle or till it clear s the pickupLast edited by pat mccarthy; 10-20-2010 at 08:14 PM.
