I think you might be a little off track as to how your work and Pat's work compare

    Jerry

PS and be careful about mentioning heads up street racing---Mr 455 will call you out!!!

    C-MON now fellas......

It is easy to get mad...the hard part is finding some common ground.

Everyone can still have thier own ideas.....

I saw a sign at a swap meet in Arizona last month and it read......

    All offers considered....even stupid ones.

I got a real kick out of it, so I told the guy that I really liked his sign and we joked for a few.....then he mentioned about the sign and said the stupid ones are just considered for shorter amount of time.

Anyway...I am sure both of you do a fine job at what you do....

Me personally..I will choose a roller ......it`s not worth the chance of a flat tappet going south for me anyway. It`s a gamble I am not willing to take, especially when there is a alternative to the gamble.
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

Well Pat just to make you Happy . I Picked up a 5.7 Vortec today The Block is no good but I have all the Roller parts to build me a SB Chevy Roller Engine now . So I will build that Roller Engine and Make a Video of it running . And you can build that Flat Tappet one and do the same . Should be an easy thing for you to do in an Engine Shop

Just an observation, it would seem someone doesn't yet understand the difference between "build" and "assemble"....

Let me know when this race is gonna happen Pat!!!! Always interesting to watch someone who thinks they know how to go fast be confronted by someone who actually knows and has done it for so many years!!! Suppose Tango will assume his alias again and come on CHR to tell all of us (again) how "great" he is....?????

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how changing out parts on trucks has anything to do with building real high performance engines!!!!!! Heck, why would anyone be mad, this is entertaining as all get out!!!!! Been amazed for years why real engine builders like Pat and Jerry would tolerate someone telling them how things are in the world of high performance engines. I'll give Tango one thing though....he's hung out longer on CHR then most of the pretenders do once they're found out!!!!!!

Ya Dave I was wonder how Long it would be till you had to ring in on Here Ha-Ha . Parts changer ? pretender ? Ya think when I have to rebuild a Big Diesel Engine in a Semi in Frame that has to Run Tons of Miles I tell the Boss to order a Crate Engine ? Get Real Guy . I have known some Machinist that knew very Little about Race Cars but knew how to machine Blocks Heads and Cranks real good . A Lot of them would not do any assembly . So what are they Not Machinist ? I think I am wasting My Time trying to explain this to you . When I have a Block Bored out . I do the Final assembly my self or how you say it I change the Parts That's easy right Ha- Don't Poke that Bear with that Stick Dave . There is Room for you to Line up one of Your Car's to race too . Show Me How it's Done Guy Blow the Dust off one of Your cars and Fire it up Run It ! Better yet one of them FE's you Built ? I would Love to Rage on it Ya Right COOL Thank's for Making me Laugh Today Buddy .

Well, I guess all that's kewl... Just don't see where it (big diesel engine in frame)has anything to do with going fast..... When it's time to race, I'll be here... Would you prefer the 9.90 car, the 8.90 car, or just the old Saturday night special??? Or if you want, you could just wait til the new one is done and try it.

By the way, do you actually own something or have built anything that goes faster then your old mid 13 Chebbie????

PS--all the FE stuff is put away til I find something I want to build.

Think there's a picture of the old Maverick in my gallery, should be. Now we're running a '67 Comet and a T-Bird. Everything is still mothballed for the winter Louey..... Have to get some current pics when we get things out in the spring, everthing has been updated a bit this year, gonna be a really fun summer!!!!!! Hoping to be able to get things caught up in the shop so that I get to go play this summer, too!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm already getting excited about putting a Jr. Dragster together for my grandaughter....she's only 2 now, probably no big reason to start pricing cars just yet!!!!!!
