    I pretty much agree with all that has been said. I don't have a SB but have
    nitrous plumbed to my 496 blown 5 spd stick. The builder who is a member
    of CHR said if I ever had the time and a chance to hit the button on the
    nitrous to let him know. I haven't called him yet.

    i think that guy that built your blower engine just wanted to hear from you after you hit the button on that blower engine to know that you lived threw it . there were two guys in town here one ran a 383 on alot of N0s. car was a street car and ran mid 9s for about two years he was a hard hitter he blew much $$ trying to hold parts together with the sbc split some blocks and other stuff. i seen him blow a fiber glass hood off his car one of the solenoids hanged up. i have never seen a glass hood get so completely disintergrated. this was many years ago were they did not have parts and setups they have now .he started with a small shot 120/150 to try to beat some guy with a GTO then he went nuts with the stuff .i do not think you could get a strait answer to how much money they spent or engine s they blew up .but they did go fast. when they could hold it together. he did move up to a bbc and sprayed the hell out of it .he was running in the 8s that was a big deal in this small town. were not many guys were going that fast with a steel car full body car .i was in the camp that we did not use it and look down at it . a good engines costed to much to build .so we did not play with it . now days things have changed most all engines i build get hit with it .i do not tune them. thats up to the customer i set the engine clearances for what every hit there going to use they lie some times or use more then they say so the engine get setup for kill if they tell me 250hp shot i know there thinking of more . custom rods and pistons . after market block. rods .crank. heads $$$$

    I have absolutly no clue whats done internally, what i do know is that the truck its in is on 44's and it ROASTS the tires, and the motor was recently rebuilt, my plan was to drop the motor into my grandprix and shoot it with a 100 shot, maybeee a bit bigger, not much though, i really just want to enjoy the car

    well roastin 44's can be deceptive as to whats been done to the motor. with the right gearing ratios in the tranny n rearend you can smoke tires easily with a stock 350. but if it was a recent rebuild there should be a build sheet on the motor, if not, i'd go back to what i said earlier. tear it down and document everything, see what you have and start from the bottom end and build it back up with the intentions of running the bottle. i just went through this process with two current motors just to see what i had in them and to not much suprise neither was what i expected them to be when i opened them up.

    people can tell you they have done this or that but until you open it up you never know without a well documented build sheet, this includes not only the parts but the machined build sheet as well. the current motor im installing was built from the crank up with the intentions of eventually running a blower, this cost money and time to do the right way, it was built with as much power as i could afford and still bolt on a blower if i choose to down the road.

    if you really just want to enjoy it, run it like it is, you can even get it dyno'd if you really wanna know the power curve and maybe get some extra power out of it with bolt ons? a good place to start if your not much for turnin the wrench would be get the casting numbers and the suffix number off the block, take the valve covers off and see what kind of valve train you have, and casting numbers off the heads. this wont cost you more than a lil time to run numbers and out of pocket at most is another set of valve cover gaskets and rtv.
