283 with a holly 4bbl ?
I recently picked up a 64 283 punched .060 mains and rods .010 1970 307 heads that have been rebuilt mild cam and it has an old holly 4bbl on it the only numbers i can find on it are on the secondary butterfly it sais 487 it looks like a small carb just wondering about a possible rebuild kit or if i should just toss it and get a new eddlebrock never been much of a holly person but if it will work i am good with it. thank for any info

It should have some numbers on the choke tower....It will say "List xxxxx". Can you put up a picture of the carb? That will help with identifying it.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

this is the recipient of the 283
project 38 nash going mild hot rod going for reliable driver don't care alot about huge horse power it had about 85 hp orriginally obove that is an improvement

Don't remember what Holley called that carb, but there was a lot of reasons they quit making it---none of them good!!!! Think it was called an Economizer or something like that, anyway IMO they were junk. I say get a 600 Edelbrock and set that Holley on a fence post next time you want to do some target shooting!!!!

You would be wasting good ammunition doing that a better use, garbage can ballast .Is that your face or did your pants fall down?
