Back when I redid my motor I thought I had a rear main seal leaking all the time. After pulling the motor I found it was my gasket for the distributor. Surprising where leaks can come from.

Had the same problem while replacing a friends gasket, He used a one piece and it leaked front and rear. Tried putting rtv on one side of the gasket waited a day and 1/2 ...leaked tried another gasket 1 piece with rtv both sides, waited 2 days fired up no leaks for three days then you know the results puddle of oil. Called a racing engine builder friend and asked for the secret installation instructions..he said dump the one piece and go back to felpro. He had nothing but problems with the 1 piece. he would install one that worked then 5 that leaked. Said to many flaws in the pans made now. hate rework

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to try The Right Stuff, and if that does not work, it will be back to the rubber and cork gaskets. I will let you know what works.
