60 over 350 power adders?
I've got a 60 over 350 built pretty solid, my question is I am considering throwing an eagle 400 crank in it to make it a 406. Is it going to be worth the money for the horsepower gain? Secondly I have a gear drive and a flat tappet comp cam (.519 .523) I am considering dropping the gear drive to convert to full roller. The complete kit is about 600 bucks. Is the full roller worth the money for the horsepower. Im already making just under 500 at the crank. Im running it in a 78 trans am with a 456 rear gear and turbo 350 tranny. Any ideas thoughts or help is greatly appreciated. I just don't want to drop another 2 grand and not gain a whole lot of power. Thanks

may not be worth all the work getting a 3.750 crank with some brand of rods can be abit of work then the rods can hit the cam as well so a small base cam can be needed . the 3.750 crank would be better way to go with the scat pro I beam rod with short bolts this rod helps alot . if looking for more CID go with a SHP block or go bbc any way you go throw out the grear drive most are junk . if you still want to cut out the sbc for the 4.000 crank there will be abit of cutting to clear the rods . cut to much out you can hit water then blocks junk . the 4.000 crank can added to more loading on walls of block so a sonic check of how thick the walls are is a good ideal. any time you add more stroke crank you will need a very good oil pan some cheap pan not going to cut it you will have more then $2000.in you can have most all that in a milddle of the road roating mass . then the bare bones roller kits . you still need valve springs and pushrods . thrust botton .Last edited by pat mccarthy; 07-04-2012 at 06:42 PM.

Of the stoker brand names Eagle is the bottom of the barrel. Many QC issues with them.Don't shop price when considering a stroker crank because you do get the very thing you paid for.The Howard's brand is a very good pc for the money which you get out of

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
