I need to pick the brain of one of you sbc gods.
I have some strange valve adjustment questions (Gen 1 sbc) and maybe some pretty basic questions as well. I have done searches but cant seen to find the answers. Is there one of you sbc gods out there who is feeling extra chatty and wouldnt mind sort of a novice bending your ear for a while? Please pm me or just say hey. Thanks.

Have you searched the site for your answer? SBC valve adjustment has been addressed many times on this site with a couple different ways to do the adjustment. Now we like strange so whats the strange question so we can all learn! OH I'm not one of the gods but they are listening.

No God here, just an old guy who likes to share knowledge with those who have an interest in learning. Here's a basic valve adjustment procedure that I wrote for the crankshaft coalition wiki. It has also been amended several times by other writers and seems to be a pretty good tutorial....

Thanks guys. Yes, i have searched but i never seem to find others with the "exact" issues i have at the time. However, now that i read that link for crankshaft coalition, things seen a lot clearer to me.
The issue i was having was that most "instructions" or videos seem to say conflicting things. It all just left me wondering if i was just supposed to take out the lash (up and down) or tighten the rocker arm down and spin it til that little "kiss" between tight and lose. Either way when i would adjust the first 8 and spin the engine around to do the other 8, the first 8 just didnt look right. I am still a couple days away from trying to fire it up and the valves are killing me.
