chevy 350 vs. olds 350
Hello,
I am a new member and i was wondering what the main differences are between a chevy 350 and an olds 350. I have a 1975 olds 350 out of a 442, and i was curious as to what parts were interchangeable, if any.
Any information would helpful
thanks,

I think the air filter and alternator are the only parts that are interchangeable.
Oldsmobile used Chevy V8s in some of their cars for a few years untill somebody sued them. If your Olds engine looks exactly like a Chevy engine it probably is.Last edited by The Al Show; 03-25-2004 at 05:03 AM.

Actually, the air filter wont even fit. Its too tall on a C-350. However, the air conditioning pumps are interchangable. Anyway, chances are if your 350R came out of a 442, its not a chevy. You would be a lot better off just assuming that nothing would fit. Theres enough aftermarket for the olds 350 that you shouldnt have to worry about cross-breeding with a chevy 350.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

internal components?
How about the internal components of the engine? such as the cam, pushrods, anything? Or should i just assume nothing chevy will work? How about the heads, is anything in those possibly replaceable with chevy components. I was just curious.
