Perfect!! Thank you very much, when I was reading about the grounding strap on forums I kept assuming it was the grounding strap from the coil to the mounting bolt.
Should I be concerned that the original cap didn't have one?
Or perhaps that's why my coil wires fried after a while of driving it?

Just installed the new grounding bracket and what do ya know, works perfectly!!
Runs smoother than it ever did before, and zero arcing.
Funny thing is the 3 screws on the dust cover for the coil are completely different from each other. Since the grounding bracket wasn't in the original distributor that I inherited from buying the camaro, I assume it never was there, and the previous owners just replaced the coil every once in a while, which explains the mismatched screws.
Thanks again for everyone's help, you're life savers!

Thanks for getting back to us with the fix! Hope you hang around and become a regular with us as we all learn that way!
Once again, the knowledge on this site "rises to the occasion".
When I have electrical problems, I almost always solve them with some kind of ground issue (just ask the fiberglass body guys, eh?) - loose, dirty or (in this case) non-existent!
Best site on the web for good solid technical advise!
