I want to rebuild my 5.3 motor with more power. Where do I look or get information to be able to start this process?

A lot depends on your definition of rebuild, and what your budget is. There's a lot of performance left in the ECM and with the addition of some long tube headers and a good breathing air intake system will really wake up a 5.3. As with any rebuild, a strong bottom end is essential, lots of good power can be had with heads and cam selection but this will also require some re-programming on the ECM....

Like DaveS says, these newer engines have some power hidden in the programming, and keeping it street legal for you or the next owner (if that's a concern to you) is more involved than on older stuff.
