    Engine Id??

My grandpa gave me this truck and told me its a 327 and I believe him but I just wanted to see what the vin says and what the date code says also! I pulled this one off right below the passanger side cylinder head "VIII5yk" then I pulled this one off the rear of the passenger side head and its k27 with a 3 above it and then the last one was off the driver side rear cylinder head and its 3914 78 so if anybody could tell me what all the mean that would be awesome!

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

You need the stamped engine number from the machined pad, either on the passenger front just below the head, often tucked behind the alternator or on the driver's rear, just above the bellhousing. I've seen both locations called out for the SBC's, and I don't know if either is 100%. Should be two stamped numbers, the engine code and a partial VIN.

YK IF it is on the engine pad means

    1965-66 327 185hp manual trans 1x2bbl carb in a 60 series truck (probably a dump truck)
    OR
    1968 327 240hp 4bbl carb 400 turbo in a C series truck (C10 or C20)
