That is an oil pressure gauge. I don't trust the electric gauge.

where do you get a feed for that from-thought the oil outlets were at the back of the block or down by the oil filter?mark

There is a little 1/8 pipe plug on the front of the right lifter galley. 40ford it runs much better than it did, idles better, leaves from a standstill great and shifts smooth.
