    Just a thought, often if you spray carb cleaner at the intake to head joint you'll get a rpm increase when it his a vacuum leak. Works best at idle though, and you're chasing idle problems...

    Block hugger headers installed on engine open at the collectors, no exhaust other than that.

    Is your manifold/ gasket/ carb base compatible???????

    edlebrock performer intake, fel pro gaskets, used quadrajet carb,

    many times I have found older gm type advance mechanisms sticky a nd won'r advance /retard correctly every time giving erratic behavior to engine--
    will check into the vacuum advance...
