I took the stud out and bored it slightly to fit the existing throttle. Got every hooked up tried to turn it over starter spins fuel is in the carb but the engine wouldn't fire up I'm thinking the distributor probably needs advanced. I did notice that the battery leads were getting warm when i decided to call it quits which seems to me that I have a short some where

If you are cranking it hard, then it is normal for the cables to get warm..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

The truck works again!!! the lights and engine work but I still have a lot of loose wires that don't seem to have any homes.
I just have to figure out how to adjust my clutch pedal because it only works on the last 1/4. Brand new clutch, flywheel and throw out bearing are installed.
