Welcome to CHR.... That's kind of a wide open question---depends on so many things, you going racing, street, a bit of both or ??? Depends on what brand and size of engine you're talking about too.

For really serious horsepower, a forged steel crankshaft and a solid roller camshaft would be in order. But you need to answer Dave's questions for a more detailed answer.

What kind of car is this engine going it? Do you want to drive it on the street or is it strictly for racing? How much money are you willing to spend?

The motor in my pickup has red paint on it, but that does not make it a candidate for a race motor any more than high nickel content makes your motor a candidate for a race motor. What were you reading when you came up with this idea?

Your use of the word BEST takes the 350 completely out of the picture---If you want to change your request for a GOOD or FAIR choice then we can offer some help. The 350 and other gen 1 sbc are very old tech and have been surpassed in every basic thru advanced levels of every function of the engine---------

Step up to something that doesn't use the camshaft to drive the ignition and oil pump------has cylinder heads that aren't compromised by adjacient exhaust valves, has shaft rocker system the intake port isn't squeezed by pushrod locatonn, etc, etc
