383 rebuild question
Is it difficult to build a 383 bottom end after all the block machining is done?

No different than assembling a 350 or any other small block Chevy. Use Scat 25700P rods to clear the cam lobes and you're golden. Get this used copy of David Vizard's book from kamoflajed and read up on engine assembly....less than 12 bucks delivered to your mailbox.....

you might want to install the cam first and then the crank---put # 1 in and degree the cam-------then you can check each rod as you go instead of thinking your done and finding that the crank won't turn over---------
Great to see your new post, Mike, and great to see CHR up and running again after several days of the Hmmm, can't reach this page.... Also good that you found an easy solution to your storage/access...
