Hats off to you Mr. Dobbs!

My children are in the same age group and it's very special as they become peers and we relate on a lot of things now that several years ago they could not have been bothered with. Interestingly enough I have a 33 year old daughter who has taken a great interest in my work and is now my heir apparent in the succession strategy as I look to officialy retire in a 2018. She’s a bio-chemist but has always been very technically inclined and will do fine running a technology centric organization. She was also the one who used to sit with me for hours in the garage and build engines and talk car stuff. When she was very young, I would sit her on the fender of the car I was working on and she would ask lots of questions. One such conversation went like this:

“Dad, what’s that big thing on top of the engine?”

"It’s called a carburetor.”

“What does it do?”

“Well, it mixes the gas in the tank with the surrounding air so it will burn in the engine.”

“Why can’t we get already mixed up at the gas station?”

And so it would go....
