    Post Pulley bracket troubles

Hey, I'd like to start off by saying ty for any help I receive. So I have an 84 Silverado and I had a 350 in it that seized up. So I found another 350 to put in it. But like an idiot I tore everything off the old engine and now I'm having a hard time figuring out where all the pulley brackets go on the new(to me) engine. The engine that seized was 10066036 and the new one is a 3970010. If anyone has any tips or pics/diagrams to show me where the brackets mount up I'd greatly appreciate it.

What would I do? Assuming you're in Mesa, Arizona, I'd get in touch with this seller of an '84 Silverado in Surprise, Arizona (Mesa is on the Southeast of Phoenix, Surprise is on the Northwest of Phoenix) and make arrangements to go to his house to view the truck. Take your camera and photograph the engine bay. After you have all the photos you will need (use a camera with a good flash, it's dark in the engine bay), you can either tell him you'll get back to him or you can be honest with him and offer to buy his lunch at a local beanery for taking his time to accommodate you.

I looked around a lot, and could not find a good photo, so I agree with Tech. Find one and take a picture.

Here is the original factory service manual for it. It would show you how everything fits in the engine compartment, but it's a little more expensive than driving to Surprise.

Of course, you could hold out for another '84 to show up on craigslist. Here's an '83 in south Phoenix....

Or you can just drive around the greater Phoenix metro, shopping all of the small, independent lots for an '84 Silverado and when you find one hop out, pop the hood and start taking pictures.... Hard for me to believe that '84 was unique for accessory brackets, so a wider range is likely.....
