update, timing set at 12 deg. started jetting down 2 sizes at a time went from 68 to 50 on primary's and 74 to 58 on sec. it sounds like a lot but still a little black soot on plugs going to try 48 tomorrow, 4.5 power valve was 6.5 800 rpm idle 12in vacume, but no idle circuit screws all the way in i runs 850 rpm fine one turn out it gets rich, try to set sec. up to close primary's still to rich, so whats next? idle restriction jets,if you let it set all night bowls stay up, accelerator pump is full no leaks i can see,what do you guy's think? I found an answer to my problem,great advice from everyone on this site, it's the only one i go to with my questions. As to this carb problem it was the fact that it did not have secondary metering block witch it shouldn't it had transition slots in the secondary that went past the butterfly's the qtf tech. didn't want to talk about it he just said send it back, so after a month and a half I got it back,with a proper throttle plate, problem solved
