350 Mystery sbc
Hi Everyone,
I just joined Club hotrod to ask for help on identifying my mystery sbc. Here is what I know:
Block Casting ID: 14093638 (1987-95 350 Car & Truck 2 & 4 Bolt Passenger stick 1-piece seal)
Engine ID: V0526PHH (V = Manufactured in Flint, Michigan, 05 = May, 26 = 26th, PHH = 1988 GM 350 4BBL 210HP @ 4400, 300FTLBS @ 2800 Stock)
CJ7167032 (unknown number also stamped on engine)
The engine is currently in my 1966 GMC Wideside and I want to upgrade the heads. This is where I am confused. The heads are 882's and have a four bolt perimeter mount pattern for the valve covers. I thought all 87-95 350 sbc heads had center bolt valve cover mounts???
Did Chevy produce 350's in 1988 with 882 heads? If so, what car or truck did they come from. Or is this likely something that was done by a prior owner.
Other info: my engine has a 12 bolt manifold (Edelbrock Performer installed). The engine also is equipped for spiders (roller), but has hydraulic flat tappets currently.
Thanks - I have spent hours searching the interweb on this puzzle.Last edited by jwright; 09-10-2016 at 04:46 PM.
In our neighborhood, 2 blocks down the hill was a gas station that (to me) all the cool car guys hung out there. 32 coupes, 33 & 34 Fords as well, a sweet 56 Ford Beach wagon that was setup gasser...
How did you get hooked on cars?
