    firebird 5.7

i found a "1990" firebird 5.7 at a junkyard and i'm wondering if i would be able to drop it in place of a 1989 caprice 305 sbc without any problems? i know it may sound silly, but i read those cars had vats and i don't know if that would cause any wiring issues swapping it into a different car.

*edit, i have a completely stock 305, and im interested in just swapping every single thing onto the 350. except intake, carb, etc.*

The VATS system is the car’s security system. It involves the ignition key with a built in resister, and the radio etc. I don’t think it has anything to do with the engine itself.

i'm thinking the same thing. just trying to see if anyone knows both about ^this (thanks for the response.) and if there's anything crucial i should know before buying this firebird motor. if it's just a normal 350 then it should be good to grab.
