    What's it worth?

I have a GM Performance 350 crate engine rated at 300HP. It has 30,000 miles on it and runs strong and true. I just put a new water pump, starter ,platinum plugs, alternator in to it. It is a four blot main with one piece rear main seal and center bolt valve covers the only thing it needs is a oil pan seal and timing cover seal. I wanted to sell it because I wanted to upgrade. Anybody have an idea what it might be worth? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Be really hard to say what it could bring, because engine prices are different all over, say here in southern Missouri, a good small block chevy could fetch as much as 6 to 7 hundred dollars while I have seen 351 ford motors sell for 100 bucks. You need to check around your area and see what a 350 sells for at a salvage yard and then judge out a price by that, you might check out new motors too, like from auto parts stores... I hope this helps...

Chevy small blocks like your describing would sell for $1,000 or more in NY.

    Really?
I was thinking more like $100 or $200 here in Maine. It would need to be under 3000 miles to be worth $1000 here. Is there a shortage of used engines in NY? Maybe I should go to a swap meet in NY to sell my 2 spare engines.

Guess I messed up on that. I meant $100.00 not $1,000. If it didn't have 30,000 miles on it and was complete you could probably get $600.00 for it.
