nitrous help
ok gang..i recently purchased a pro street luv truck,tubbed,4 link full cage,5500 stall ,tb,etc.....the truck has a 675 hp small block with kb 14 to 1s. i added a 678 roller .. ..i added billet electic water pump ,holley =bigger volume fuel pump..the truck was running 6 55with no spray before i got it....hooks like a bitch in heat.....i am trying to get her in the fives hoping to pick a tenth up here and their....i feel sure i can knock on 6 3o/6 40 now ...4 88 gear....with this set up iwas wondering how much nitrous i should use without pulling number three cylinder out which 400 are famous for and what nit shot i need relatively safe but good enuff for 5 90 s.ty

Are we talking the eighth mile here? What tranny?
If you go with nitrous, a lower stall converter will help greatly.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

Keep the spray low, NOS does not like high compression, unless the bottom end is real strong and was made to take the hit. The cam may not work with it either, the juice works best with a 110 or better overlap, and alot of exhaust duration. You might think about a small 75 or 125 max shot. Just go easy, if it wasn't built to take it, it'll let you know. That's my 2 cents worth.Mike Casella

actually bro ..this motor was built for a 200 shot has all the goodies....but i too am leary of the spray...this motor originally was a worlds crate.....but added higher com kb/nitrous accp pistons ,etc......runs straight as an arrow...i got the cam from summit with all the specs on my motor..they told me 175 shot would be an approx safe bet but with juice things happen....i was looking into the sniper set up..seems like a safe choice....the sweet thing about the truck is my two buddies are making our own fuel coming out to about 2 50 a gallon and burning much cleaner/....with explosion...beats the hell outta 6.00 a gallon cam 2 in this area....plus makes me able to be bop around town and makes it more streetable....many guys buy prostreet vehicles with no idea of what they are getting into...i mean 'real ps vehicles'the fuel, heat, driveability, cops, the list goes on.....then a couple months later they trying to get rid of em...and they throw numbers out like 9 and 10 seconds=1/4/ 5 and 6 sec eights...they have no idea the money it costs to go that fast....speed is weight....simple answer.....thanks for your 2 cents.

If it was "built for nitrous" and the builder put 14:1 compression pistons in th the builder didn't know what the hell he was doing. Nitrous doesn't like high compression.
AbeTechnology is the answer.

don't get huffy bro..you don't know what you r saying.....in some aspects....in this area..we build motors to live on the edge at the track.its all about speed....you can jug a motor with high compression, you just have to have a super strong bottom end etc.......there is 17000 in receipts in this motor not counting all the labor so I know whats the deal here!what you say is true in some reasonable thinking but not concrete.I am not saying 500 hp shot.....or anything like that......im just trying to pick up about 3 to 4 tenths ,after talking with the bros from summit with all my specs they gave me a low down and rec cam.....plus the motor was rebuilt to take a mediocre nit shot.....not a monster 500 hp shot...

truck weighs 2400 lbs...lexan windows.....fiberglass front end....aluminum bed....etc......im not gonna chop it up for speed..although it does have a FULL cage......i just got back from track and it went 6 18 /6 13/ I am pleasantly surprised although everyone was running quicker, track was super good and weather was cool...i drive this truck a lot,not just a weekend warrior and drove it to the track 12 miles away and back home.its not a trailor queen like most,i don't want something like that but to each his own,if u look above in one of my posts i said speed is weight,so i will agree with you.....on that statement!yea i could gut it and lose a couple hundred pounds but wtf.no way.....i run home brew to the track at 110 octane and purchase 120 octane to race,..not cheap.i have not had any combustion problem mixing thre fuel and truck runs super.only thing is 5 gallon fuel cell..yikes..have to stop and fuel up.lmao
Thank you Roger. .
