I do get great gas mileage when I'm on the highway. The car is electronic fuel injected. And like I mentioned above, it only turns 2300 rpms at 100. At 80 it turns 2100. So it should get great gas mileage. Around town, it just depends on how much fun I'm having. If I keep my foot out of it, I average around 15-16 mpg in town. Out on the road, I've gotten 23-25 mph depending upon if I'm running the A/C or not. But I dont tell too many people about it because they simply dont believe you can have a 400+ hp motor and still get decent mileage. Anyone who has been lucky to have someone explain how important it is to build the engine with "harmony" knows that great performance and mileage can be delivered with the right planning.

I unfortunately had to figure this one out for myself because I was too stupid to listen to my dad when he wasn't "as smart" as I was at the time.

25 mpg? sounds quite a long way to me. I'm trying to get my G20 (is heavier of course) with 250hp under 17 or 18 mpg, doesn't want to though. But I guess I'm getting nearer. And of course there's the question: Do I want to spend 3k in order to save up a bit on gas? not really.

    Thumbs up

Hey Max, is Munich in the states, or overseas? I might be mistaken but I think you might be across the pond?

Whats a G20? We dont see too many european hot rods over in Texas! Can you post a pic?

As for the $3,000......I agree. I would never spend that much to save a buck or two at a time. But I have been guilty of spending it to go faster!

Yeah, Munich is across the Pond, it is in southern Germany. Which means that gas is very expensive. Don't know what it costs exactly in the states but here it's a bit over $5 a gallon. A G20 isn't exactly a HOtrod, it's actually just a large Van, see the Pic. But I like to have a few horses around, the van is used for carting my Band around and it's wonderful for that, lots of room and so on. The reason I'm stickong with this HotRod-Forum is that you guys certeinly know more about these engines than in any other forum I've found. THX!

Now I understand the gas mileage concern. But to haul the band, you have the right vehicle. I would like to hear your band sometime. Ive been down the Rhine River several years back and had a blast.

Let me know if you ever come to the states and make it to Texas. I'll take you for a ride in a hot rod.

And not to make you feel bad, Gas is averaging around $2 in the states. God help us if we ever see the $5s.
