Angry what a 1/4 inch can do.....

well i decided to put my t5 tranny in my pontiac and it bolted up to my factory belhousing... i had to have the snout on the front of the tranny shortened it was to long....i gave the lengths a quick sloppy measure and they looked the same.... so i put it in bolted it up...when i went to roll it over it didnt want to...so i thaught my battery was low cause i did have my radio on for a while so i boosted it and it fired and ran fow about a minute then stalled all the sudden kinda hard like....to make a long story short we went up and down to try to find out why it wouldnt roll over any more i took off the oil pan and found metal from some spun crank bearings....the tranny shaft was 1/4'' longer and pushed the flywheel foward while it was running....and yes it did score the crank...yeah....and syracuse nationals is how far away....my engine man quoted 5- 600 to fix it all so i'm just gonna look for another cheap chevy 350...just to get me to syracuse..and fix the other motor when i get some more cash...
