Well thanks to everyones help, I finally got the old girl to rock ond roll! Had er running at 6500 rpm many many times, with no bent push rods and slid off rockers. She goes like a raped ape and it's all thanks to you guys. I finally got the new valves i was waiting for, and put it back together last weekend. So I'm just letting you guys know that all is well in SBC world again.... THANKS!
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
