    350 TPI air noise

I am once again working on my 34 Ford 5 window. I just got back from the exhaust shop and it sounds good. The problem I have is with the noise coming from the street and Performace air cleaner. It is extremely loud when the air draws through especially at idle. It drowns out the exhaust. I'm sure the stock Camero it came from had a huge air cleaner and noise box to stop it. Any suggestions on how to quiet this down. I don't have much room between the air cleaner and the radiator. I'm thinking I may have to run a tube down under the car into sometype of air box. I hope not because of the lack of space.

Do you have a pic of your engine bay?

Maybe that could help us help you.

Cause I don't know about everyone else but I'm having a hard time picturing the problem.

I can say that some people have taken fresh air intake filters and mounted them dirctly to the air intake with a foam air cleaner cover.

never heard them run though so I couldn't tell you how good it worked for masking the sound.

Maybe you should go with a Pete Jackson gear drive timing unit

Ewww not much room is there?

Try a foam baffle on the filter it may quiet it down somewhat.

Are you using K&N filter or a cheapo jobber? Another thing you might do is get a rubber base gasket on the TPI intake. It may not make much difference but you never know til you try.
