Cam Correct
Hi
I've loved "Hot Rodding" and just "Hopping up motors" for quite a few years now. Although new here and I would like too give my best regards too everyone.
About a year ago. I found out about this little device called the "Cam Correct" and it's basically a timing chain tensioner. It gives you variable valve timing of up too 7 degrees! I just installed my third one in a year and the thing seems too help. If you run a large camshaft or are just look for a longer powerband, Cam Correct might be worth looking into. The price is very reasonable for what it does and, it's simple, my favorite part!
My Brother's 540 BB is getting 50ft pounds of torque a three grand for a total of 610 ft pounds @ 3000rpms. the Cam Correct falls off at about 3500 rpms on my computer program: Performance Trends Engine Anylizer.
Another 355 that I built for a buddy is getting about 40ft pounds @ 3000rpms. Both motors are very snappy, I mean SNAPPY! No lie..
The inventor and one of my buddies also makes the finest four piece timing cover known too mankind, excuse the possible exaggeration. The cover is 100% CNC machined and has rubber O rings, built in adjustable thrust bearing and the newer covers have the Cam Correct built in too the cover itself, you mount them too the block without the cover. With 3 adjustable spring rates and provisions for mounting a Dry Sump oil pump!
The covers feature:
* Easy Cam access and quik timing changes with the Dynagear quik adjust timing sets.
* Built in adjustablt timing pointer.
* Removable front cam cover.
* Roller Cam button, built in and adjutable.
* Removable Seal plate!
* O ring cases.
* Abillity too change timing ghain without disturbing oil pan seal.
* Built in timing tensioner on new models with adjustable spring rates.
* Oil pressure operated tensioners and Belt drive (with adjustable timing tensioner) setups available in the near future.
I'de be happy to talk more about this or help with any questions regarding the CC, Timing covers or about how I set up the motors too work better with the CC.
Respectfully. MonteGot Nitrous?
