    shorty spark plugs

     



    does anyone have part numbers for shorty spark plugs commomly used in small block chevy to clear headers, other than accels and easier to purchase localy, im looking for older gasket type .

    They are available from different companies other than accel, champoin has them but I wouldn't go that route. You can go to your local auto parts store and request them to cross reference from a champion number, which I don't have right now. Call Summit or Jegs and see if they can give you a plug number. I know a friend of mine got some I think autolite shorties might ne NGK will have to ask him.

    thanks for reply, try to come up with some numbers if you can. i cannt be only one looking this route. guy behinh local parts counter dont want to do the research, need part numbers or their lost.

    Still trying to find out a number for you. I talked to the guy with the shorty plugs on his car and he said he used NGK and now has Autolite, both shorty plugs.
    http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/64378/ is an article on plugs and will give you some general info on them. Also type up shorty spark plugs on the internet you will get some hits and they might be of help.
    Remember too, that the threaded section of plugs come in different lengths, from .375 to .75, do you have after market heads, I know my edelbrock victor JR's use the .75 with the gasket but I was able to get away with not using the shorty plugs so can't help with the numbers.
