    Question 400sb ???

    Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a replacement for my poor performing 305 , planning on doing the replacement mid next summer. I have found this engine http://216.157.36.177/cgi-bin/webc.c...21104013036.88
Any thoughts on this engine? Is it worth the money? I'm planning on adding headers, cam, intake, already have a 2-1/2 / 3" exhaust, maybe heads as the $$ comes alone and I talk the wife into it

Will probably be adding new transmission and rear end after my BIG foot hits the gas

I'm hopeing for at least 15 MPG and just have some fun mostly around town

    Thanks alot, Rick

Agreed. That is a very good price. With that 7 year 70,000 mile warranty I'd leave it as is except for external bolt ons. Ask them about installing a mild performance cam before delivery to you so the warranty stays intact.

Also be aware that the 400 is externally balanced and requires a proper flex plate and balancer that is different than the 350/327/283. Not sure if the 305 is external or not. I never had one.
