305
Im a new member to this forum and I'm looking for some suggestions on my 86 elcanimo with a 305 eng. All of my friends are telling me to put in a 350 but that is what everybody else is running. I want to keep the 305. Are there any suggestion?
Thank you

I have a 305 in my chevy and I have the following done to it. Bored .060 with new flattop pistons. New intake manifold with a 600 cfm carb. Sanderson headers and I'm putting on better flowing heads this winter along with a bigger cam. Now if You have just a stock 305 and want to update it a new intake manifold with a 600 cfm carb and headers will give you about 30 HP and 20lbs. of torque. Yea I know people put these 305 down but I've had good luck with mine and just this summer I converted over to a 3 duece intake with 3 rochester carbs. Runs great. Get on the internet and type in build up on a 305 chevy and you can see what you can do with these motors. Good luckKeep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

yeah i noticed that people run them down alot but me my mom and my uncle have one and they are all good engines except for the one in my 79 and it was un til the fuel pump got screwed up and it has got gas in the oil and everyone that i talk to about it says that the cam is out and stuff so i guess i will get another 305 i found one pretty cheap these engines if you run them right you can put alot of miles on themDan
