    305

Im a new member to this forum and I'm looking for some suggestions on my 86 elcanimo with a 305 eng. All of my friends are telling me to put in a 350 but that is what everybody else is running. I want to keep the 305. Are there any suggestion?

    Thank you

I have a 305 in my chevy and I have the following done to it. Bored .060 with new flattop pistons. New intake manifold with a 600 cfm carb. Sanderson headers and I'm putting on better flowing heads this winter along with a bigger cam. Now if You have just a stock 305 and want to update it a new intake manifold with a 600 cfm carb and headers will give you about 30 HP and 20lbs. of torque. Yea I know people put these 305 down but I've had good luck with mine and just this summer I converted over to a 3 duece intake with 3 rochester carbs. Runs great. Get on the internet and type in build up on a 305 chevy and you can see what you can do with these motors. Good luck
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
