    5w bearclaws

I would like to use bearclaw latches on the doors of my glass 5w. Can I make them work with a stock style outer door handle that sits on the swage line? I would also like to use locking handles but assume that on a 5w I have to use a separate key barrel and linkage rather than a locking handle?

My '34 three-window has Bearclaws and stock locking handles. I can't take a picture inside of the door, because I'd have to disconnect my electric windows and take my inner door panel off.

Handle in place. Not on the swage line, though.

Thanks Henry...On a 5w I think that the outside handle has to locate directly into the bearclaw/latch. I assume that I have to modify a bearclaw to take the square drive from the outer handle?

I don't think so. The stock handle sits next to the Bearclaw, and when you turn the handle, it trips the bearclaw. If I get ambitious this afternoon, I'll pull the panel back and take a look and a photo if I can.

Any other suggestions on door latches/handles for a 5w?

I just took this latch out of my glass '34 door - partly out of curiosity, partly because I need to break it down to paint it. It works with a standard square-shank door handle.

It's made by Tri Mark of Hampton, IA. It came in my Gibbon body, so I assume you can get them from them.

Tri Mark has a website, but I'll be darned if I can find the product there.

Thanks Henry and RocknRod! That's exactly what I am after! Now I just have to see if I can deal direct with TriMark..Not had much joy trying to buy things from Gibbon.
    Much appreciated....

OK..Problem solved thanks to you guys! Turns out that TriMark have a distributor here in the UK. They carry those latches as a stock item! Much cheaper than Gibbon as well. I am really pleased and would not have found them without your help.
Henry...Do you have a link rod attached to the latch which is then connected to an internal door handle?
I am going to modify 3w outside locking handles to fit my 5w as locking handles are not available for a 5w. Plan on using an original looking internal handle.
I really appreciate this guidance....Thanks again!

I haven't addressed the interior door handle problem yet. Thanks for reminding me.
