    Bat Wings??

I am working assembling a chassis after paint for a 32 when I noticed there is a left bat wing and right bat wing. The top hole where the perch goes throught is turned slightly. How do I tell the right from the left?? (I marked everything else for left and right up and down but I missed these)

Favor the offset of the wing portion to the outside on each side. If you have provision on one for a panhard bar that one should go on the passenger side.

    BAT WINGS

    Bob:
I am looking at the top of my bat wings it appears the top hole is slightly offset to one side with the casting longer on one side. Is this the offset you are referring to?? I have a bracket that attaches for the panhard bar.

here's an example of pass. side 4 bar batwing with a panhard bracket bolted on, notice offset to the outside.

The perch holes in the axle are inclined like the kingpin holes. Meaning if you put te perches in the holes they would be leaning toward the center of the axle.

The angles built into the batwings are to correct this inclination so that the 4-bars/haripins are vertical and not layed over. If you slip the batwing over the axle and look down on it from the top you will quickly see which was is right or wrong.
