highboy roadster
hi folks. new member here. glad to see some grownups in the crowd, not the usual kiddie car site.
i've wanted to build a car from the ground up since i was 15 (dont ask how long thats been.) i think now is the time. i've settled on a highboy roadster, the home game. it will resemble a 32 ford but will be built from parts i've collected over several years; none of them ford.
problem is, i havn't yet found the body dimentions for the 32 ford roadster. even a line drawing showing hight, width, hood length, etc would help. any help you can provide will be aknowledged and appreciated. thanks.

Wescotts has line drawings of the frames, as do others. The Traditional Ford Hotrod book has lot's of info. What body parts are you using? I've built complete cars "by eye" based on what I had and what I wanted it to look like. I'm working on building a highboy using model a frame and suspension and a 29 Plymouth body.Life is good

IMO the best thing to do is go to a local cruise in a few times, meet the guys there and maybe one of them wont mind you getting the demensions off of their car. Reason I say this is because that way if you screw up with the numbers then it's your fault rather then someone else give you the wrong demensions. Find out all the demensions you need to know and then go to their home or something and get it all. That way too you will get to do it yourself, look the car over and possibly get more idea's instead of just from a picture.
Good luck!www.streamlineautocare.com
If you wan't something done right, then you have to do it yourself!

fmxhellraiser, good idea but local cruise nights are suspended for the rainy season.
olddaddy, ive worked with wood steel and glass off and on for years. i plan to apply that to a home built body. any idea where i might find the book you mention?
