700 R4's came in a lot of 5.7 trucks up until the early 1990's, just check the shift indicator for the overdrive, it will be PRND123, the 3 indicates an overdriveYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

that a good link there.
many camaro and firebirds came with the 700r4, and quite a few had the electric speedo.
if you have any measurements of the length of drive shaft you need, you could go looking for one out of a 4th gen camaro or firebird. they came with aluminum shafts, if you find one that is the right length, then you can polish the shaft and it would look cool, if you have detailed the undercarrige of your car.

Well i got out in the junk yard on Sat.
Man all the cars that had V8 and a 700r4 were all picked out
Not 1 eng or trans in about 50 cars i did find a sencor but that was at a trans shop.
All the drive shafts were gone and no eng or trans.
So i guess i will need to get a locar dipstick and trans cable for the carb.
And a new drive shaft
Are all the cars picked over out where you all live or is it just the L.A. market.
They told me all the core guys get that stuff in the 1st 2 hrs of a car gettting in the yard.
