If you are trying to maintain some illusion of a factory appearance on your '32, metallics did not get popular until the '50s. Think: "How would Henry have done it"?

You need to keep it very simple, such as an ivory or tan in place of the fawn, and just use a simple two tone pattern. Seperate it from the black with a 1/8th inch pinstipe in a basic color, like medium red or orange, about 1/4 inch above the tan. That would give you a much earlier "look".
