Early Ford rear axle info required
Hi Guys
I have a lead on an Early Ford Rear Axle and tomorrow i am going probably buy it. All i know is that it came from a v8 car. How can i determine what year and vehicle it came from? I know there were different widths, but what i am hoping it's from a later model Ford 36-40 so i can build up a Q/C rear from it. Anyone have any good links or info for me?
Thanks

NO LINKS ...
But a 40 rear is 60 inches wide ... measured from wheel mounting flange to wheel mounting flange and has hydraulic brakes ... with the 5 on 5.5 wheel pattern. A 39 is the same but with the wide 5 pattern ... 38 and older have mechanical brakes ...
All of this is original ... not messed with ...

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
