    Thumbs up My First Breakdown!

Last Sunday I went for a looooooong SOLO cruise, seeking some adventure.

I FOUND MORE THAN I BARGAINED FOR!

    Read all about it here:

    http://www.bettatalk.com/read_about_our_adventures.htm

You'll notice I have added several new "adventures", towards the bottom of page. The last 2 cover my Sunday cruise.

I hope you enjoy my first breakdown as much as I did

Oh and PS: yes, after two hours of hard work on Tuesday night, the neuro surgeon was able to bring Hiboy out of his coma and he is once again up and running - Just in time to be driven to Hollywood hotrod shop Saturday for some major transplant surgery!

You are not alone in that boat. Anyone who has built a car has had a similar experiance one time or another. Be glad it didn't end with a tow truck. Besides a few more like that and you'll be a regular grease monkey.

reading the end, sounds like the alternator was backfeeding, fried the diodes possibly, some other causes. the wire you put on may have been put on the wrong post.

Well, whomever did the electrical wiring on my car needs to be shot in the head... twice .

I had been thnking about rewiring the entire car, but was waiting for some bad weather to do it. After last week's experience, i think I am going to move this up towards the top of my list. After this week-end, most of the urgent work I need will be completed, since I am dropping Hiboy off to the shop for a 2 day marathon. I was going to replace front and back shocks next, but I think that now I will redo wiring first. My shocks can't light me on fire... Bad wiring can.

When I do my wiring, everything will not only be crimped right, but also soudered (sorry not sure how to spell it) and heat shrinked. No more loose connections, no more multicolored wires, no more unlabeled wires, no more jungle of spagettis under my dash board. I am very tempted to splurge and get a real nice fuse box/harness, I like the So Cal ones but $$$$$$ YIKES , Ron Francis would be next on my list... DO they make a SMALLER metal fuse box? I think I only need 8 but would like to give myself a bit of room and get a 12 fuses box. Just in case I ever want to add POWER WINDOWS ... Oh wait... I DON'T HAVE WINDOWS...

I know Easy wiring has good quality wires and is very inexpensive. I am not crazy about the plastic fuse boxes though... I'd like Hiboy to have nice stuff, since I am not planning on selling him.

You guys are welcome to post some links to nice harnesses, with nostalgic looking fuse box and small in size.... My Mamma told me: You gotta shop around .
