HighBoy Gal,
The most famous modern woman driver is Danica Patrick but she drives a HONDA so that does not help your search for pictures of women in '30s roadsters. I guess it is up to you, Veda Orr and Helen Root if you can find a picture of Mrs. Root.

I did a google search trying to find photos of the Root roadster. Did not find that but ended up finding another obscure UK website LOADED with AWESOME roadster vintage 30's - 60's photos, including one photo of Veda RACING
I found no less than 50 photos that are all awesome. A few had women in them too ! This has given me some serious amunitions!!
Let me share a few here, maybe omse of them are new to you, too: ENJOY!!

It's always a good kick in the memory to see that San Fernando Raceway sign!
Now, if we're gonna have HRP & Pops degenerate this I'll put up one of my favorites. Not a hot rod per se, but it is a chicklette working on her car. Whenever I see this I think "nice legs"!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

What a Picture
Hey Faith,
That picture with the BIG blimp hanger is at what was the Tustin Lighter Than Air Station (old Santa Ana drag strip of the late 50's) or what's left of it. I think there are two hangers and one will be a museum. I dont know if there is still access to the area but what a picture that would make.
Just a thought.
C-ya at the show.

Check with the NHRA museum. I am sure they have plenty of pics in the archives. They should at least have some from the dry lake bed photos

I used to go to the Santa Drags often. They were at Santa Ana Airport, which now Orange County Airport. They may have used LTA before the
Drag strip opened. I used to load crop dusters on the old Drag Strip. There has been lots of shows and events at LTA through the years. The C.O. of
the Base was in to cars. The Hangers were so big they had there own
climate inside, fog etc...Ron
